Last week was volunteers week, albeit a week later, we want to take a moment to recognise and thank each and every one of our fantastic volunteers.
Their dedication, generosity, and willingness to give their time and energy has made an incredible difference to our work.
We were blessed to been to hosted again by our friends at Treetops school, who provided an amazing afternoon tea, with the young people of Treetops giving some fantastic performances of Mr Blue Sky, songs from the Wizard of Oz and Tangled, and the unforgettable Max and Harry's version of the Frank Sinatra classic My Way, It was such a lovely way to be able to say Thank You to our Volunteers
Volunteering is one of the most selfless gifts a person can offer. Each one of our volunteers chooses to show up, rain or shine to contribute their skills, and experience to support others, and help make our goals a reality—not because they have to, but because they care about others. That commitment deserves our deepest gratitude.
Every task they are asked to undertake they have taken on with a wry smile, every hour they have given, and every act of kindness they have shown, has had a meaningful impact. Many of the successes we celebrate, would not have been possible without their hard work and enthusiasm. Whether their contributions were visible to everyone or happened quietly behind the scenes, each one has been invaluable.
Beyond the hard work itself, they also bring positivity, compassion, and a sense of community. Our volunteers remind us that when people come together with a shared purpose, amazing things can happen and demonstrates that people do care
Many of those who work at our centres interact with people at the lowest point in their lives, people with addiction, debt, homelessness, and their interactions have been life changing for many of those that they have served.
On behalf of all the staff team at Thurrock Foodbank, thank you for your time, your effort, and your generous gift of spirit. We are truly grateful for everything you do, and we are fortunate to have such an outstanding group of volunteers supporting us.
