Good afternoon,

Always a busy week, and this week I had the pleasure of being part of the van crew.

It is always my policy not to ask people to do things that I wouldn't be prepared to do myself. Being part of the van crew is always a bit of fun, as well as hard work. It is a good opportunity to interact with those that support us. The van crews all have their routes and routines, but it is also good to see what tasks we ask the teams to carry out. 

I joined Richard, our van driver delivering to our South Ockendon Centre, then collections at Lidl and Sainsburys. It was a good exercise as we were able to meet with our community champion at Sainsburys to get an update on our donations. Then more collections although it is clear donations are down and in a few locations we had no donations at all!

Delivery to our friends at Linford, where we were met with a warm welcome and a cup of coffee. 

Then back to the Warehouse to drop off collections and load the van ready for today's crew. It certainly is a continuing business that we could not do without our volunteers.

It is always good to get an insight into what work our volunteers have to undertake to make it all happen. 

Sadly our food donations are really down, with Ceri having to spend over £1,000 this week to replenish or stock. The stock in our warehouse is looking somewhat depleted.  

To help with this situation, we do have some store collections planned, so if you can spare an hour or two, either as an individual or as a small group, please do let us know.
