Good afternoon, I hope all is well with you all,
Another busy week in the life of Thurrock Foodbank and we continue to be blessed in our work. Last week we received 115 boxes of chocolate, not the weather to be handling Chocolate, but we are always grateful for what we receive.. Although thankfully it is a bit cooler this week, we have managed to find a cooler place to store the chocolate! We will ensure the chocolate bars get out to those that use our foodbank over the coming weeks
We were also contacted by a lovely gentleman Gordon, who is the Managing Director of Hiddenwell Spas, the company that has purchased Orsett Hall. They have donated some of the food that was left over, which we have had to clear before the building contractors get on site on 10th August. It has given us a challenge and has encouraged us to move forward with our strategy for a Community Supermarket.
Please see below!
We're excited to announce the launch of our new Thurrock Foodbank Pop-Up Pantry, which will be taking place next Tuesday in the main hall TCF in Giffords Cross Road, Corringham.
The Pop-Up Pantry offers local people the opportunity to purchase a range of fresh produce, non-perishable food, toiletries and other essential items at heavily reduced prices, helping households make their money go further while supporting our community.
All the details can be found on the attached poster, including the date, time, location and how our pricing system works.
If you would like to be involved in anyway, please do not hesitate to contact us
Our Friends at Lower Thames Crossing are always looking to see how they can help us help the community. Hearing about our Pop Up Pantry, today they introduced us to New Life Wood, a community project in Pitsea. It was lovely to meet Darren and his team. They will be helping us by manufacturing some wooden crates that we will be able to use to display our produce in our Pop Up Pantry.
Date for your Diaries:
Our good friends at Grays Methodist Church are hosting a fund day on 22nd August from 11:00am

Our centres are still busy, and still we see many coming to us for the first time! What a difference a warm smile, a drink and a chat really makes to someone, and their perspective on life. We are able to prove that people do care!
Demand continues, and our donations are down, we are still short of some of our most basic items:
These items are:
Mashed Potato
Tinned Meat (Spaghetti Bolognese, Curry, Stews, Hot Dogs etc)

We really value your support with any form of donation whether it be a financial or a food donation, however large or small. As the saying goes. "Every Little Helps" It all goes towards our work in seeking to bless the community of Thurrock
If you require any further information or would to discuss any aspect of our work in more detail, please do not hesitate to contact me,
