Lobbying face to face with your MP is the most effective form of lobbying.
Now that is it possible to do so, SPUC is holding a Mass lobby of MPs on Friday 16 July or Saturday 17 July 2021. We are asking pro-life supporters up and down the country to organise a meeting with their MP, at the MP’s constituency office, on one of these dates.
We need to lobby MPs now to:
- End DIY abortion
- Protect vulnerable people from assisted suicide.

Ask your MP to sign a Parliamentary motion to stop ‘DIY’ abortion
Carla Lockhart MP has launched a parliamentary motion calling on the Government to end ‘DIY’ home abortion. If ‘DIY’ home abortions become permanent, this will be a very big change to abortion provision that will likely lead to the loss of many more lives - and it is likely that this will have a strong negative impact on the physical and emotional health of women. It is therefore vital that as many MPs as possible sign Carla Lockhart’s motion to send a clear message to the Government that they must end dangerous ‘DIY’ home abortion services as soon as possible.
Right To Life UK has launched an easy-to-use tool which makes it simple for you to send an email to your MP asking them to sign the motion. This tool can be accessed here. You can also download a poster here.
Act now and stop disability abortion up to birth in NI
Earlier this year the Northern Ireland Assembly voted on the Severe Fetal Impairment Abortion (Amendment) Bill and it passed Second Stage by 48 votes to 12.
The Northern Ireland Health Committee is now undertaking a consultation on the Bill and is seeking submissions from the public. It is important that as many people as possible submit to the consultation in support of the Bill to clearly show that there is widespread support for this important change.
Right To Life UK has set up an easy-to-use tool on their website that makes it simple to complete your submission. You can do so by following the link below. It only takes 30 seconds!

We have observed and grown concerned with some media outlets’ move to position themselves as journalists ‘campaigning’ for abortion access; the most recent example being the changes to the Guardian’s guidelines on how they report on abortion, a move that follows long-term bias from the BBC in their language guidelines. If this trend continues, it will become increasingly difficult for the mainstream public to be informed on the pro-life side of debates on issues such as abortion.
By partnering with Right To Life News, you can ensure that you have access to reliable pro-life news - not limited by what editors in major newspapers choose to publish.

Since home abortions were temporarily allowed, as has been reported extensively in the media, a number of significant problems have put the lives and health of many women in danger (you can read more about these significant problems here)
Recently, the UK Government has launched a consultation on whether to make permanent the current temporary arrangement allowing ‘DIY’ home abortions. In response to this, we are asking members of the public to take action and submit their views to the consultation. Right To Life UK has set up an easy-to-use tool on their website that makes it simple to complete your submission. This tool can be accessed here.
Please Consider Responding to the Department of Health consultation to stop home abortions!
The Department of Health is holding a public consultation on whether to continue the practice of allowing abortion providers to send abortion pills to women so that they can perform their own abortion at home. We need as many pro-life people as possible to complete the Department of Health’s questionnaire in order to help stop dangerous DIY abortions becoming permanent. SPUC has prepared a briefing which gives a step by step guide to completing the consultation questionnaire. Please go to https://www.spuc.org.uk/Get-Involved/Campaigns/England-DIY-Abortion-Consultation The consultation ends on 26 February 2021.
